A fun birthday card

Here is a card I made to wish a friend on his birthday. ^__^

I used stickers from Itsy Bitsy to create the background and the super cute dino stamp + sentiment is from So Suzy Stamps.
The washi tape is from Priya's store.

I know you see two identical pictures but in the second picture, did you notice a little paw-print next to the sentiment?

That was a last minute addition to the card. :D

I didn't have a paw print stamp but I had a tiny paper punch, so I punched it out and used the punch out as a stencil!

I think it was what was missing on my card which now seems complete with the paw-print.

Have a lovely day!

Washi Wishes!

I love working with bright spring happy colors. :)

The inspiration behind this card is.... yup, you guessed that right.. a birthday cake!
I was checking out pictures of birthdays celebrated with family and friends, feeling nostalgic when I glanced at my box of washi tapes and bam!

Here are the steps :
1. Stamped the sentiment "Wish" (by So Suzy Stamps, yes, I do love red rubber stamps and So Suzy Stamps make some really fabulous ones, so do check them out!) in black archival ink.
2. Cut a frame from a piece of pattern paper from my stash alongwith washi tape strips (after matting the washi tapes onto white cardstock).
3. Adhered frame + washi bits and added a piece of ribbon.
4. Using watercolor pencils did the flames and once they dried, I covered them in glossy accents.
5. Added sequins from my stash and super fine glitter dust to washi "candles" + the frame.

That is it! Easy peasy recipe to one pretty, super sparkly card!
Thank you for stopping by and have a happy day friends! *Hugs*

P.S. Here are a few more pics but the lighting is slightly off... ah well, you get the idea!

Christmas Fishes!

The current challenge at So Suzy Stamps is Christmas by the Sea, which is really interesting...

When I saw the topic, I immediately knew that I had to pick "little fish" stamp and do something, but what?

Little fish is actually very true to its name, it is tiny and therefore a superb background builder... so I thought, why not try and make a Christmas Tree! ^__^

It is unlike any card design I have ever tried, lol... my sibling called me mad to have done this (I do show my work to her from time to time to get her opinion) but I was darn stubborn that this was what I wanted to do, so here it is...

A very, VERY unconventional Christmas card!

Here's how I made this :
1. Stamped the "little fish" stamp by So Suzy (A lot of times!) in black archival.
2. Stamped sentiment using alphabet set by Lawn Fawn.
3. Drew a couple of black lines using my uniball fine liner.
4. Created background using distress inks with metallic purple gelato... it has that subtle Wink of Stella-like shimmer, apologies, I tried, but it is one of those cards that is very hard to photograph.
5. Adhered sequins and pearls.
6. Took some blue stickles and just smooshed it across with finger to add a tad more sparkle.
7. Lastly, distressed the edges and matted it onto light pink cardstock.

I did a pastel color themed card after quite some time which was indeed a refreshing change! I hope you liked it!

Have a happy day! :)

July ATCs!

These are the 2 ATCs that I made for July 2015 swap.
Now that both the ATCs have reached the intended receivers, here are the pictures for everybody to see! ^__^

Also included steps as to how I made them!
Have a happy day folks!

This is ATC #1

Oh, I forgot to mention, the ATC theme of the month was Monsoons!

How did I make this?
1. Created background with distress inks, sakura pens and archival ink.
2. Stamped clouds using a Lawn Fawn set, Stamped sentiment + little swirly design from a set by Wplus9 and lastly, the script stamp which is by by Tim Holtz.
3. Colored clouds using Black Soot distress ink.
4. Used the stencils : Texturized by TCW and Tim Holtz stencil - Tracks (my latest addition to stencils and I absolutely loved using this!)
5. Added fine white glitter to clouds and chunky orange glitter sprinkled over the grassy flower patch.
6. Created the look of water droplets (See the close up picture) using glossy accents.
7. Lastly added hand-torn pieces of pattern paper to the ATC.

Tip : If you don't have glossy accents but still would like to create a water droplet look, use fevicol / pva glue.  (Glossy accent effect is a little more 3D, shiny and super quick drying which is why I preferred it over fevicol.)

Here's ATC #2.

This is how I made it
1. This time my background was created with distress inks and metallic gelatos.
I like gelatos, they yield a nice vibrancy to papercraft projects.
2. After that I stamped clouds onto a different piece of cardstock, colored and covered them in fine glitter, fussy cut them and stuck them onto the ATC.
3. I also used the Tim Holtz script stamp to add to texture alongwith the Wplus9 stamp set to add sentiment.
4. After this, I used the gorgeous Tim Holtz stencil Tracks (did I tell you I absolutely LOVE it!) with distress inks and Hero Arts Charcoal ink onto my ATC.
Note that on this ATC, I have used the stencil Vertically as compared to my previous ATC where I used it horizontally.
Horizontal or Vertical, this is one stencil that looks fab both ways.
The horizontal kinda depicts the rain falling from the clouds, no? ^__^
5. After this, I added hand-torn pieces of blue chevron washi tape to the ATC.
6. To jazz up the ATC a little, I also added tiny clear rhinestones to show the flow of rainfall.

Tip : If you don't have a color coordinating washi tape, fret not. You can use some lovely pattern paper too. :) Just like how I did in my ATC #1.

A little thanks..

Hello! ^__^

More often than not we tend to take people for granted when a simple thanks is all that is needed.

Remember, no act of kindness however small, ever goes wasted.

So, here are a couple of mini cards or notelettes that I made to thank some really amazing people in my life.

The lovely "Thank You" stamp that you see is a So Suzy Stamp.
It is my go-to stamp for making thank you cards, I love the stamp size and the beautiful font, it makes the cards I make look oh-so-graceful!

In the card #1 (the one with the mulberry flowers) that background swirly stamp is Peppermint Zone by Wplus9 that I stamped in chalk ink.
The paper punch border on the same is from a Martha Stewart punch.

I used a corner rounder to round one side on card #2 and the black twine is by doodlebug. Die-cut is from Marianne Creatables Die (Garden Branch).

Hope this has inspired you to make atleast one thank you card to thank someone who has been nice to you. :) Better late than never!

Thank you for stopping by!

You're the Bomb!! ^__^

I love fine glitter! ^__^  Can you tell?

I also love customizing plain white die-cuts into jazzy funky ones....

Here is one such card that I made for a friend. That die-cut there does look like a cool bomb, right? :D Hence the title!

I inked up that beauty in Picked Raspberry and Salty Ocean distress inks, that gorgeous shade of purple you see is a result of the blending of the two colors.

After that I glittered it up and matted it onto a white cardstock.
Used the same inks with my mini cubist stencil and added some ribbon and sequins!

Oh that squiggly swirl behind the die-cut is done with my simple brush and diluted Picked Raspberry ink.

Have a beautiful day! *Hugs*
